  • The inaugural Motoring at the Manor (MATM), being staged within the stunning surroundings of the Celtic Manor Resort, near Newport, South Wales, is shaping-up to be a ‘must attend’ event for all motoring aficionados and enthusiasts
  • Being held on Sunday 16th June – Father’s Day – MATM will offer something for all ages and tastes with an exceptional celebration of motoring speed, style and elegance
  • MATM will combine sport and speed with style, offering exciting dynamic action on Celtic Manor’s challenging internal road system, along with an alluring Concours d’Elegance and mouth-watering displays of supercars, classic cars, competition cars and the finest rallying machines
  • MATM at the acclaimed Celtic Manor Resort is within quick and easy reach of a large catchment area, just off the now toll-free Severn Bridge across the South Wales border
  • MATM advance tickets and tempting hospitality packages on sale now

Motoring at The Manor (MATM) is a brand new and exciting celebration of automotive culture, being held within the scenic and award-winning Celtic Manor Resort, located near the now-toll free Severn Bridge in Newport, South Wales; quickly and easily accessible for a large proportion of the British population, with London typically just 90 minutes away by car, for example.

The inaugural MATM, being held on Father’s Day - Sunday 16th June - will be a gala of speed, elegance, motoring excellence and performance. This new feast for all the senses at the breath-taking Celtic Manor Resort will see exciting action with a series of competition, road and rally cars tackling the Manor’s twisting and challenging internal road network – including its distinctive landmark bridge over the River Usk – with these magnificent machines being driven to new heights and testing the limits by some leading drivers.

Away from the dynamic action of the Celtic Manor track, MATM will also offer visitors the chance to get up close and personal with an extensive displays of static vehicles, plus an extensive array of other attractions and entertainment, including interviews with motor racing and rally personalities, as well as competitions and live music, to create a luxurious and memorable summer garden party atmosphere, surrounded by the beautiful rolling valleys of the Vale of Usk.

Dedicated vehicle displays will include zones to admire jaw-dropping supercars and hypercars, as well as a broad selection of classic cars and car clubs, plus an extensive array of rally cars and circuit competition racers, with demonstration drives available to MATM visitors.

A comprehensive range of rally cars will include early-era classics such as Mini Coopers, Ford Escorts and Saab 96s, through to a 1970s Lancia Stratos, Datsun 240Z, Alpine A110 Berlinette and Ford Escort RS1800s, via fearsome 1980s Group B Audi Quattro, Mazda RX-7 and MG Metro 6R4s, and on to exciting modern rally weapons, including Subaru Imprezas, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X and Ford Fiestas.

Various disciplines of tarmac-munching competition cars at MATM will include single-seater racers, plus Formula 1, Touring Cars, Can Am, historic competition cars and mighty Group C endurance racers, including Le Mans legends, the latter to coincide with the fabled race coming to a head during MATM, which will be screened live at the Celtic Manor during the event for spectators to enjoy whilst enjoying an alfresco feast on the tranquil Welsh lawns.

An impressive gathering of supercars and hypercars looks set to include ultimate exotica by Pagani, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche and others, whilst classic cars will make MATM visitors nostalgic with a rich pallet older Aston Martins, MGs, Fords, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, Bentley, Lotus, Triumph and so on.
Picture
These special display areas will be joined by a world-class Concours d'Elégance, with five carefully selected Concours classes, devoted to the following:

-Welsh Wizardry – Welsh-built Wheels (examples of Gilbern, Davrian, River Simple, etc.)
-Le Mans – Road Going Racers (Jaguar, Bentley, Porsche, Ford, Chevrolet, etc.)
-Citroen – a Century of Avant Garde Chic (Traction Avant, DS, SM, 2CV, etc.)
-Pre-War Sporting Machines – Vintage Vogue (Bugatti, Aston Martin, Alvis, Lagonda, Vauxhall, etc.)
-Shooting Breaks – Combining Pace with Space (Aston Martin,  Jaguar, Maserati, Ferrari, etc.)

Introducing Motoring at the Manor, Tim Nash, CEO of Classic & Competition Car Events Ltd which is staging the MATM event in partnership with Celtic Manor, says: “We are very excited to be bringing some breath-taking vehicles to Wales and putting on an event that has something for everyone. It will be a superb day out whether you are a serious petrol head or a family looking for a great day out for Father’s Day.”

Celtic Manor Resort Chief Executive Ian Edwards adds: “Motoring at the Manor will be a fantastic addition to our summer events and we look forward to seeing the polo ponies make way for some fantastic cars and leading personalities from the world of motoring.”

For the inaugural MATM, Mission Motorsport has been chosen the event’s official charity partner, with all monies raised from the demonstration drive experience going to this worthy cause.

Ben Williams, Mission Motorsport Corporate Fund Raiser, says:  “We are delighted to be the official charity partner for this impressive new event, not only is it going to be an incredible showcase of the great and good from the motoring industry but should also be a wonderful family day out. As a charity we are wholly dependent on third party support to continue our work; doing more, for more. We’ll be there at the event raising awareness and funds for the work we do to help ex-service men and women recover and retrain to rebuild their lives within the automotive and wider engineering sector.”

You can read our report on last years show HERE

Here are a few of the great cars you can see at this years show.
Picture
On Porsche’s stand you can see the 2019 Porsche 935 ‘Moby Dick’, will be presented in Europe for the first time at the show. Sporting the same 690bhp, 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six and chassis underpinnings of the latest 911 GT2 RS, the European debut of this limited production track-only supercar is not to be missed
Picture
2018 McLaren Senna (Shmee150)
Something of a motoring internet icon, Shmee150 has attended the Autosport International  for a number of years, bringing along some of his prized collection of automobiles. This year his MSO Cerulean Blue McLaren Senna will take centre stage in the Live Action Arena, where he will be presenting alongside David Croft and Emma Walsh. Producing 789bhp from its 4.0L twin-turbo V8, the Senna is the latest supercar to come out of the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey and it will be great to see being driven live at the show.
Picture
2018 Nero Design Aventador S and Urus (Yiannimize)
Much-loved by the internet, supercar wrapper supreme – Yiannimize, will be bringing along his matching Nero Design Lamborghini Aventador S and Urus SUV. Each vehicle will be sporting brand-new, aftermarket body-kits from Nero Design and an outlandish chrome turquoise wrap applied by Yianny’s team. The cars are a must-see for fans of his YouTube series, and anyone who loves a lairy custom Italian sports car.
Picture
2018 Liberty Walk BMW i8
World-renowned Japanese-based supercar tuners Liberty Walk will be bringing along its latest custom widebody supercar to the show. The 2018 LB Works BMW i8 will take pride-of-place on the Liberty Walk stand (4510) in the Performance & Tuning Car Show.
Picture
1973 Porsche 917/30 Sunoco 996

This historic racing Porsche is on show at the Performance & Tuning Car Show.

Produced specifically for the open-top CanAm championship, only 6 examples of this iconic Porsche racecar were ever built. The championship had almost no engine restrictions, so the 5.4-litre motor in this 1973 917/30 produced a gargantuan 1,100bhp. Unsurprisingly, it dominated the series and took home the top four places.
