Autosport International & Performance Car Show
January 13/14th
We attended this show as media, working for another company.
Location, Access and Value
Being at the NEC, it is very easy for access with parking of 16000 spaces at £12 / day. The show cost is from £35 and included access to both parts of the show including live show. You have a choice to pay £46 to gain access to the paddocks and autograph signing area which includes entry to the event or even £127 each for VIP access and seating at the Live Arena which includes parking, free drinks and crepes at the event.
The Live Show is good and viewing is well thought out. It is cold so take warm clothing and allow a little time to get to the arena and get seated as it is a couple of hundred metre’s walk. It is also noisy but not deafening and only the very young might benefit from ear-protection. (This could change next year and I would advise to always carry ear-protection [It might come in handy when your partner starts moaning their feet hurt later in the show])
If you like motorsport and have not been to this show, why not? It has everything you need to fill your day.

Loads of new cars if you’re thinking about getting into racing - like Ginetta, Westfield, Evo, etc.
And lots of very well-designed exhibitor displays from some of the bigger car modifiers and manufacturers - like Ferrari and Steeda etc. This event should suit all ages and sexes and provides a good mix of new and old motorsport, plus combining the extra glamour of the performance car section.
There is plenty of room to get around and a large area around the show to allow a place to rest and eat (floor space). The displays are large and in some cases, like Ferrari, gate controlled which allows for good viewing and photography.
Even on the Sunday, the exhibitors were still enthusiastic and willing to talk about their cars and products with anyone willing to listen. It does take a full day to get round so be early, although they do not let anyone in until the exact start time.
Although I did not have any food, the food areas were popular and everyone looked to be buying food. The NEC provides its own food and also hosts several well-known outlets like Starbucks, Subway, Wetherspoon’s, The Cornish Bakery and FCB espresso bar. Menus are available online along with serving times.
Conclusions
Good points
Great show and well worth a visit which will not disappoint. Lots to see in a spacious environment providing good access to the exhibits.
The show does have two days of trade only and talking with the exhibitors, this is very good for them and provides good networking.
Bad points
Not much really except the price is the highest of any show so far and you can really get that price up if two of you attend.
