Porsche Pageant
Porsche Club GB R8 at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire
30th June 2019
This was the 13th Porsche Pageant organised by Region 8 of the Porsche Club GB. A great job was made of the organisation for the event, and in the beautiful setting at Chatsworth House in the Derbyshire Peaks.
Not everything went smoothly as Chatsworth mucked up the overflow parking space organised by the club, putting several cars in the public parking area rather than the pre-arranged, closer parking area.
I doubt much spoilt the day for anyone due to the relaxed atmosphere and constant attention from the volunteer club marshals.
We arrived on time, for once, at 9am and parked up at the very top of the lawn with the other concours entrants, who apart from two had already arrived and were busy cleaning their cars.
We quickly set about chatting with the other show entrants to find out what we needed to do (new to the game). Not a great start as my engine is shiny but would not be judged. The boot on the other hand was full to the brim and *was* being judged.
Porsches just kept arriving. By 10am, the main show area was full and the overflow was starting to fill up. The lawn was full of many different examples from 356s to Cayenne and 924 Carrera GT to GT2RS.

Porsche Centre Nottingham had set up a small marquee and was busy selling Porsche merchandise. PCGB was set up opposite their marquee and got busy signing-up new members (15 I think) and providing tea and coffee and a place to chat.
We did a lot of chatting and enjoyed every minute of it with a bunch of friendly likeminded people and a few ‘normals’ interested in the event.
Judging came and went for the concours and the presentation took place at 3.15. To our delight, we took 1st place in the Aircooled Region section, with Michael Bolton from Yorkshire Region taking first place in the Aircooled visitor section. It was a great day for white 911s.

Top spot for the concours was taken by Stephen Deverill with his immaculate Boxster.
The raffle then took place (once Tom found the stubs). Unfortunately, many raffle ticket holders had gone home and pulling out tickets for people no longer there to receive a prize delayed finding winners. Fortunately, that fact also increased our chance of winning, and we benefited from some great donated and club sponsored prizes.
A great event and a big thanks to everyone that worked so hard to make it such a roaring success!
