Garage 39 Breakfast Meet @ Donington Park
Sunday February 17th
February was looking bright for car meets with great weather and a very full car park at Donington Park Garage 39 diner.
Entrance to the meet is not at the usual turn, as we and lots of others found out. Maybe a sign before the turn to the first entrance and security barrier could have prevented us needing to make a three point turn? A group of new attendees all got confused from lack of direction and I wonder how many more fell into the same assumption.
We decided to take The Beast (Porsche Cayenne Turbo) and parked without problem.
Garage 39 was busy, doing food and drink for the family attendees who turned up in everything from a McLaren 650S to a Fiat 500.
The meet attracts many modified cars from the extreme to the big bore boy racer.

It was quiet for a while with the car parks full to walk around, but then the first few started to leave at around 10.30 and we moved to the exit to watch and listen to them do the 100m blast. Lots of noise and pops and bangs. Unlike some meets, most people stood well back and away from any real danger. I think it works very well.
The meet is free and a great place for a club run on a Sunday morning. We will be attending future events.
