The Porsche Club GB Speed Championship

The Porsche Club GB Invitation Clas
Designed for the event to show car and driver talent with a good selection of cars taking part.
Porsche Club GB had its normal marquee set up with seating and coffee/Tea for members, along with some pre-booked parking. Along with many more interesting Porsche we parked in a field opposite the entrance to the hill climb. The field was a little scary due to the humps running down it, making slow driving and ground clearance a problem.
Porsche Tewksbury was event sponsors and had a mobile showroom set-up.
The whole event was well run with two cars normally on the hill at any one time and good information from the £5 programme and commentary.
The event was not just Porsche but covered a full spectrum of cars (except electric) from Small cars to full race cars. There is something for everyone at these events.

Access to all parts of the hill give excellent viewing and many people took advantage of the great weather to sit on the grass and watch from there.
The pits are open to the public and all cars and drivers are available for a chat. We spent a little time chatting with Graham Loakes about his Lola T 492 Porsche and gearboxes. A great car fitted with a 3.2 engine and 915 gearbox, and setting the fastest time on Saturday.

A small 4 car display of interesting Porsche race cars could be viewed. It was a pity the 956 didn’t run the hill, even if it needed turning around on the top and running back down.
A great day and enjoyed by everyone, including our young trainee photographer.
