Glorious sunshine to set off the gleaming chrome and buffed paintwork!
A little cold, but let’s hope this is setting the standards for the weather. Come on British Summer! Pull your socks up!
The cars come and go throughout the evening, a steady, heady rumble of big engines and small, the owners grinning from ear-to-ear – and rightly so! Their pride and joy on display.
There really is something for everyone! Huge American classics, sleek German, Italian, British and Japanese sports cars and everything in between!
If you want to get out one Wednesday evening this summer, you’d do a lot worse than making your way over to Papplewick to The Griffin’s Head – Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday through the summer months.

The morning did not look very promising for the event due to heavy rain, but by mid-afternoon, the sun was out and we made a move over to Papplewick which is only a short drive for us.
The field had quite an American feel when we arrived, with lots of interesting vehicles.
The field, surprisingly, was quite dry and even with the 100 or so cars entering, it had a solid feel underfoot.

Quite a number of modified cars and several very nice Escorts were in attendance, it’s always good to see the little cars from my youth still being cared for and obviously loved.
Everyone is friendly at the meet and if you get hungry, the pub does meals or you can grab a burger and coffee outside at a great price.
